Reading Party
Today we celebrated Fall with a reading party. We had silent reading on our blankets and then watched the BFG (Miss King had read it to us.). Nothing like curling up with a good book. Enjoy your Fall break!
Silly Safari
On Monday Team 184 had a chance to see and touch a boa constrictor! Silly Safari came to visit and showed us all kinds of interesting animals. Some of the favorites were the kawati and the cockroaches. Ask your child to tell you about it!

Leaf Rubbings for PAT Time
For PAT time last week Teammate #22 suggested we do leaf rubbings. Team 184 loved this activity. You could really see the details in the leaves when you did the rubbing. Some people used pencils, others crayons. Everyone could splash their work with a touch of their own pizazz.
ZooBurst Publishing
We brought computers into our room to work on publishing our personal narratives. We are almost done! It is exciting to create our own pop-up books. |

Addition and Subtraction
This adding and subtracting of large numbers is HARD work! Ms. King is helping us understand how to do this HARD work, by leading us in counting and practicing and thinking activities. Fact families are an important part of our understanding. We have a test on Friday, so we are learning as much as we can!
Editing and Publishing
Last week we worked on editing our personal narrative stories. We worked as a group. We worked by ourselves. We worked with partners. We worked and worked and worked to get our stories to be the best they could be. This week we are PUBLISHING! Stay tuned...we can hardly wait to share our stories!
Making a Web, Talking about Community
For our class meeting this week, we talked about people who are important to our Ox Bow community. As we shared our ideas, we built a web to represent how we are all interconnected. After that we got our new jobs for October. Miss King said we are all an important part of our classroom community. We also made a paper chain with our names on the loops. We're all in this together!
